Bhubaneswar: Odisha experienced intense heat wave condition as 12 places recorded above 40 degree Celsius on Saturday.
Western Odisha town Bolangir recorded the maximum temperature of 43.4 degree Celsius.
Jharsuguda recorded 43.2 degree Celsius while Sonepur registered 42.6 degree Celsius.
The capital city Bhubaneswar sizzled at 39.2 degrees Celsius and Cuttak at 38.5 degrees Celsius.
The Met office has predicted high temperatures in the next few days.
“A similar trend of high temperature will continue in the state for a week. Besides, there are chances of thunder squall activities in some pockets of coastal and adjoining pockets,” Director of regional IMD centre, Sarat Chandra Sahu said.
