Rape survivor commits suicide in Nayagarh

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a rape survivor committed suicide as she could not bear public criticism in Radhanathpur village under Nuagaon police station in Odisha’s Nayagarh district last night.

According to reports, the girl had a pregnancy of five months.

Family members had lodged a complaint with police two months back alleging that their daughter was raped by a youth of the village.

Acting on the complaint, the Nuagaon police arrested the accused Debaraj Barik and started an investigation.
