2019 polls: Odisha Congress to finalise 50% candidates by August-end

Bhubaneswar: With the constitution of Screening Committee, Odisha Congress president Niranjan Patnaik said 50% candidate names for Assembly and Lok Sabha polls will be finalised by August-end this year.

“The Screening Committee has been constituted as per our decision to finalise the candidates months before the 2019 polls. We will finalise 50% candidate names for Assembly and Lok Sabha polls by August-end,” said Patnaik.

Notably, All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi on Friday appointed VD Satheesan as the chairman of Screening Committee for Odisha Congress.

Jitin Prasad and Naushad Solanki are members of the Screening Committee.
