Bhubaneswar: Odisha is among the top 10 performing states in India in terms of Human Development Index (HDI) improvement, according to a State Bank of India (SBI) report.
Odisha holds third position in terms of compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of social expenditure at 15.1%. It is also a top performer in terms of improvement in per capita income, due to higher economic growth rate.
Besides, the state is also a top performer in terms of improvement in per capita income, due to higher economic growth rate, the report on HDI (1990-2017) added.
Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and
Karnataka have seen a significant jump in their HDI rank, while most of the
North Eastern states like Nagaland, Meghalaya and Manipur have slipped in the
ranking.
