Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister on Monday donated his one year salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to be utilised for the cyclone hit people in the state.
While several state governments have donated assistance for the cyclone-ravaged Odisha, Dalai Lama also offered a donation of Rs 10 lakh for rebuilding and providing relief to the affected areas.
“I appreciate that relief efforts are underway
and that everything possible is being done to help those affected. As a mark of
solidarity with the people of Odisha, I am donating Rs 1,000,000 (Rupees one
million) from the Dalai Lama Trust to the efforts to provide relief and
rebuild,” he said in a letter to the Chief Minister.
