Odisha govt to spend Rs 3,234 crore more for KALIA scheme


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday decided to allocate an additional Rs 3,234 crore for implementation of the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) during 2019-20.

The decision in this regard was taken in accordance with the state cabinet’s decision on May 29 to include 32.34 lakh additional beneficiaries under the KALIA scheme.

It was decided to include 32.34 lakh additional farmers under the scheme, making the total number of beneficiaries around 75 lakh.

Out of a total of 75 lakh beneficiaries, 50 lakh will be small and marginal farmers and sharecroppers while the remaining 25 lakh will be landless agricultural households.
