Bhubaneswar: The Central Electricity Supply Utility (CESU) on Thursday began the mass disconnection drive of power supply to defaulting consumers across various areas under its jurisdiction.
On the first day of the drive, as many as 39 squads set up by the power utility company are carrying out the disconnection drive in the Khurda area.
The squads disconnected the power supply to as many as 53 commercial establishments.
In the first phase, the disconnection drive will target only the defaulter commercial establishments in the first phase.
The 2nd
phase of disconnection drive will focus on affluent and high-value domestic
consumers keeping huge outstanding arrears. It will include high load domestic
consumers having multi-storied houses, Air Conditioners, four-wheeler, etc.
