Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday informed that a low-pressure area is likely to form over the southwest Bay of Bengal (BoB) around May 22, 2024.
It is likely to bring relief for people in Odisha from the scorching summer. Odisha is likely to witness rainfall and thunderstorms under the impact of a low pressure formed over the Bay of Bengal.
The low-pressure area is likely to move initially north-eastwards and subsequently concentrate into a depression over central parts of the Bay of Bengal around May 24, said the IMD.
The Bhubaneswar met centre took to its X handle and wrote: “A low-pressure area is likely to form over the southwest Bay of Bengal around 22nd May. It is likely to move initially northeastwards and concentrate into a depression over central parts of Bay of Bengal around 24th May 2024.”
The low pressure which is likely to become more marked over the Bay of Bengal in the next few days.
